    Reports on the House of Commons debate on a bill to introduce new arithmetical tables in schools, to which Punch adds that 'if the Boys of England have true British pluck they will demand to be taught the metrical system, and will meantime refuse to learn the ridiculous old one'. Later notes the debate on the buildings of the International Exhibition. (12)
