The Irish Agricultural Association
Animal Husbandry, Breeding, Cultural Geography
Reports that Ireland, like England, now fattens up cattle so much that the animals can neither see nor walk. Notes that the Irish Agricultural Association awarded a medal to a 'corpulent' cow which was entitled to the appellation 'the Daniel Lambert of quadrupeds', a reference to one of the world's largest men.
