Something More from Our Artist
Gaston de Malaloeil
Genre: | Letter, Spoof |
Subjects: | Ornithology, Evolution, Darwinism |
Addressed to the editor of the 'Chikkin Hazard', this explains his choice of illustration accompanying PU1/54/15/7. The letter-writer points out that the bird in the illustration is a 'tame pangofflin' which is a 'variety of the spoonbill' whose 'peculiar bill' is, according to the author's ornithological friend, 'a splendid illustration of Mr. Darwin's well-known theories on the origin of species'. |
