    Remarks that the vexed question of the 'Jewish origin of the Afghans, and a number of similar inquiries, must be left to the future investigations of archæologists' (602). Also observes that the 'Survey Department [...] has done a large amount of good work, and given us accurate maps, which we had not before' (603).
