    Describes the use of this ancient property in Mare Street, Hackney (which is depicted in a half-page illustration), as a nursery, initially, from the mid-eighteenth century, by Johann Busch. Relates that, in 1771, Busch gave up his nursery to Conrad Loddiges, in order to work for Empress Catherine II of Russia. Describes the nurseries of Conrad Loddiges & Sons, 'who rank as the most eminent florists and nurserymen of their time' (433).
