    The writer discourses on true patriotism. It is observed that England has blended 'literary greatness with private excellence' and has produced 'geniuses in every department of art and science [...] whose lives and deaths have been strictly in conformity to the principles they have inculcated', including notably Isaac Newton and Robert Boyle (230).
