The writer introduces an account of 'Dr. Stewart's Plan' written and printed for distribution by Mrs Beilby Thompson, with a view to disseminating it more widely. Stewart is reported to have embraced the opinions underlying his unorthodox practice while attending medical lectures in the course of his studies at the University of Edinburgh. The account concludes with a detailed letter on the efficacy of the practice from William Hey to William Babington.
