    Reports that the British Association for the Advancement of Science has decided to admit ladies, including Mrs Gamp, as members. Mrs Gamp's dubious scientific credentials include, in archaeology, her 'productions of several huge columns, of great antiquity' and, in geology, her discovery of 'fragments of the primary deposits in railway advertisements'.
