    Explains why the hippopotamus at the Zoological Society Gardens should 'quit town' for the seaside. Reasons include the 'invigorating sea breeze' and competition in London from the 'largest Tortoise in the world'. The illustration shows a frightened hippopotamus wearing a bonnet, being helped into a bathing car amidst a crowd of spectators.
