    Describes briefly some of the items on display at Mr Punch's counter at the Great Exhibition, most of which attempt to solve problems encountered in the home. Examples include 'A Latch Key' enabling the late-returning husband to turn back the clocks in the house by three hours, and a 'Verdi Ear Protector', enabling a 'young lady' to 'sit out' one of Giuseppe F F Verdi's operas 'without hearing any of the noise'.
