Punch,  24 (1853), 9.

Baron Liebig on Punch's Almanack

Anon

Genre:

Letter, Spoof; Editorial Reply

Subjects:

Analytical Chemistry, Adulteration, Public Health, Periodicals

Extracts a letter, purportedly from Justus von Liebig, which claims by 'subtle analysis' that Punch's Almanack is genuine and 'free from adulteration'. Boasts that it has received similar testimonials from the Lancet's Analytical Sanitary Commission and the surgeon Charles M Clarke.
