    Discusses moves by the Lord Mayor of London (Thomas Challis) to promote 'science and art among all classes', including his display at the Mansion House of 'geological specimens', 'objects of natural history', and a host of scientific instruments. Congratulates the mayor for introducing 'food for the mind into his dinners'.
