    Following the 'progress' made towards the 'humane treatment of insane persons' notes that inmates now perform the indoor work in lunatic asylums and that the directors of Hanwell Lunatic Asylum have employed inmates in kitchens. Includes some appropriate recipes from the system of 'insane cookery' practised by inmates.
