The Victory of Christ's Hospital

Anon

Genre:

News-Commentary, Drollery

Subjects:

Education, Religious Authority, Government

Discusses Christ's Hospital's attempt to expel 'Dr Jacob from the Head Mastership of the Bluecoat School, for having, in preaching them a sermon from the pulpit, pointed out to [the Hospital Committeemen] certain defects in the management of that Institution, which it was their duty to attend'. Thinks that the 'failure of these high-minded men in this generous attempt, is to be regretted by all Beadledom'.
