    Responds to an article in The Times claiming that the horse of King Frederick William IV of Prussia canters on one leg. Following the claim of George L Leclerc, comte de Buffon that 'Style is the man', insists that the king's horse is the man since the horse follows the king's policy of going 'his own way upon one leg'.
