    Startled to learn of the sale of animals at the Surrey Zoological Gardens, a move reflecting the 'superior attraction' of the garden's musical concerts. Discusses possible problems with auctioning animals and resolves to 'keep an eye on the sale', but to 'remain at a respectful distance from the various lots' which may react violently to those in the auction room.
