    Reports on the 'Great Water Lily' at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, and the witty riposte of Queen Victoria's physician Charles Locock, when asked to account for its Latin name, Victoria regia, that it was named 'out of compliment to Mrs. Lillie'.
