The Dead Alive in New York!

Anon

Genre:

News-Commentary

Subjects:

Crime, Miracle, Psychology, Language

Discusses a Morning Post article about a young man in New York who murdered his parents and servants—victims who, according to the author of the Post article, were later to be 'in a fair way to recovery'. Rejecting the possibility that a miracle has happened, suggests that the author had been subjected to a 'reflex-action' which made him use the latter phrase (one which he evidently used a good deal) instead of 'as well as could be expected'.
