Discusses the successful attempt by Claude F A N de Saint-Victor to capture sunshine 'in a bottle' and then photograph it. Expects that this will be followed by advertisements for sunbeams and insists that the argument that Saint-Victor's trapped sunshine is 'moonshine' is undermined by Charles Wheatstone's demonstration that sunshine blackens sensitive paper.
