    Discusses a Morning Post article describing the secrecy surrounding the Royal Arsenal trials of William G Armstrong's gun, the 'secret' of which was 'sold by two malcontents to the Governments of France and America', and circulated among various British newspapers. Likens the precautions used to protect the weapon to locking the stable door after the horse has been abducted.
