Anon

Genre:

Poetry, Drollery

Subjects:

Similar to PU1/38/2/1, rejoices in the beneficial effect of seasonal conditions on doctors' income. Hails the arrival of such inclement weather conditions as hail, snow, and rain so that people, 'despite their thickest coats [...] may get sore throats'. Relishes winter as the season in which 'ague, asthma, cough and cramp' breed, calls on Boreas to 'lay the halest mortals low', and urges bronchitis, influenza, and other maladies to appear, 'for fevers are to doctors food' as well as 'meat and raiment'.
