    Notes the House of Commons discussion of a bill for 'making Gas Companies behave with some sort of fairness and honesty'. Despite the tactful defence of gas companies provided by the statesman Meaburn Staniland, Punch points out that people will still refuse to believe that 'Companies ought to charge high for bad gas'. (21)
