    Discusses news that Manchester calico-dyers and printers have begun using apple juice in their manufacture of 'fast colours and printed cottons', noting that 'This is not the first time in history' that 'a question of momentous gravity' has 'turned' upon the 'fall' of the apple—a reference to Isaac Newton's discovery of gravity.
