Comfort for Cumming

Anon

Genre:

News-Commentary, Drollery

Subjects:

Eschatology, Exhibitions, Amusement, Prognostication

Drawing attention to John Cumming's prediction of the 'end of the world', interprets this to mean Wyld's Great Globe in Leicester Square, 'which is doomed'. Consoles Cumming for not being appreciated by pointing out that 'no one is a prophet in his own country. Look at Old Moore', a reference to the almanac maker Francis Moore.
