    Describes some of the inventions to awarded prizes by the Royal Society of Arts. These include 'a detonating or noise-making envelope' for drawing attention to somebody surreptitiously opening an envelope in search of valuable items, and a 'self-acting door mat' for impeding the progress of visitors.
