A Medal for the Museum

Reading, Museums, Education

Assesses Anthony Panizzi's design of a 'Reading Pavillion' at the British Museum, a building which it ranks higher than the 'Splitting Giraffe, or the Fossil Man, or the Stone Tortoise', but then criticises the number of 'chattering Nuisances that infest our temple of study'.
