    The text insists that despite the claim of the 'Yankees' to be 'the Fastest nation in all creation, they still lag five hours behind slow old England'. The illustration shows a man riding a shell fired from a cannon in a British fort, the caption explaining that the figure is 'Merely going to inquire about the Seizure of the British Steam-ship "Bermuda" by the Yankee Frigate "Mercedita"'.
