Noting the satisfaction with which Mr Punch has greeted the publication of the 'Report of the Decimal Committee' (refering to Final Report of the Decimal Coinage Commissioners), summarises some of the ways in which the public will be prepared for the 'Decimal System', and presents a list of questions with which Mr Punch will be able to determine whether his 'young friends' 'will distinguish themselves' in the system. These questions poke fun at the technical language used in zoology and mathematics: for example, 'What is your idea of the Purbeck Mammalian genus Plagiaulaux?'.
