    Discusses the House of Lords debate on the 'Thames Embankment Bill' which resulted in Walter F Scott (5th Duke of Buccleuch) accepting the decision of the House of Commons, despite his 'great practical objections to the scheme'. (42) Later notes the continuation of the 'Fortifications Debate' in the Lords.
