Regular Feature, Proceedings, Drollery

Pharmaceuticals, Chemistry, Scientific Practitioners,

Reporting the successful promotion by James Parke (Baron Wensleydale) of a clause for exempting pharmaceutical chemists from serving on juries, praises the argument on the grounds that the 'superior' class of chemist 'ought not to be called away from his responsibilities'. (52) Later notes George C Lewis's support for the Armstrong gun, and further remarks on the recently passed Thames Embankment Bill.
