Announces that the Eastern Counties Railway has been renamed the Great Eastern Railway Company (as a result of amalgamation), a change which Punch thinks might suggest a journey to New York aboard the SS Great Eastern. Concludes by hoping that the new company 'will stand higher in the railway world' than its predecessor, which means not stopping 'five times in forty miles'.
