    Describing the celebrations on the occasion of the marriage of Prince Edward, recalls the lavish illuminations used in the London streets, noting the 'huge sea lanterns' that 'dimly showed on Wren's cathedral height [St Paul's Cathedral' but laments the fact that 'Science rather made a mull with her electric light'.
