An Ingoldsby Legend in Prose (To Cardinal Wiseman)
Punch
Genre: | Letter, Drollery |
Subjects: | Supernaturalism, Spiritualism, Miracle |
Draws Nicholas P S Wiseman's attention to a report in Liguori 1833 of a woman whose head was cut off by two jealous lovers but which allegedly spoke to St Dominic some time afterwards. Considers this event greater than any 'incident in the life of Mr. Home' (a reference to Home 1863), and suggests that such a story be sent to the Spiritual Magazine. |
