Announcing the possibility of people changing their names by publishing their 'intentions', presents a list of eminent figures of the day who wish to change their names together with their choices of new names. These figures adopt the names of people they would like to emulate: for example, Benjamin Disraeli wishes to change his to 'Bolingbroke' and Thomas Holloway to 'Abernethy'.
