Faust, A Comic Song
Anon
Genre: | Song, Drollery |
Subjects: | Education, Magic, Alchemy, Medical Treatment |
Following the interpretation of the Faust legend recently presented to London audiences in Charles F Gounod's opera Faust, the legend is here presented in the somewhat crude style of a music hall song. Describes Faust's reputation as 'a scollard and a sage', his 'workin' at' 'Agrippa's works', and his exchanging 'His precious soul' with the Devil 'for a dose of physic'. |
