    Asks ethnologists to decide which 'tribe of barbarians' is responsible for 'chipping off the surfaces of our Cathedrals'. Noting that Armenians are said to have flayed St Bartholomew, suggests that Charles Lyell 'might connect them with his pre-historic skinners of flints'.
