Letter from Mr Whalley

G H Whalley

Genre:

Letter, Spoof

Subjects:

Invention, Religion

This letter is apparently from the staunchly protestant statesman, George H Whalley, who warns readers of a new invention, a 'Rafrânchisseur'. Believes that this glass apparatus for allowing a lady to 'blow perfume [...] over the face of any friend' is 'a Popish device, intended to familiarise people with sprinkling'.
