Reports that Ireland, like England, now fattens up cattle so much that the animals can neither see nor walk. Notes that the Irish Agricultural Association awarded a medal to a 'corpulent' cow which was entitled to the appellation 'the Daniel Lambert of quadrupeds', a reference to one of the world's largest men. |
