    Relishes the defeat of the Imperial Gas Company 'who wanted to poison Victoria Park', and notes that this defeat was spearheaded by William Tite; hopes that the Chartered Gas Company will be similarly resisted (208). Later notes the second reading of a 'Bill for preventing uncertified beast-doctors from calling themselves Veterinary Surgeons'. (209)
