    Discusses an article describing how the General Board of Commissioners in Lunacy for Scotland reported a case of a man brought to a lunatic asylum on the grounds that he had 'a great desire to appear conspicuous as a musician'. Punch thinks this is why Scotland has 'never produced a great composer'.
