    Presents a question and answer from 'Professor Tindial'—a reference to John Tyndall—concerning the constancy of the amount of 'caloric possessed by two persons, one of whom is abusing the other', a question which took Tindial and his assistant a long time to solve owing to the low state of the thermometer.
