Discusses an article in the Lancet which questions why so few medical practitioners wear 'rational' clothing in hot weather, and recommends the use of white flannel which reflects and insulates from heat. Emphasises that men's fashions are less rational than women's, not least the black suits in which they dance. Suggests that men should wear 'a fatigue dress-coat, waistcoat and trowsers' made from white flannel.
