Depicts Emperor Nicholas I of Russia as a bear atop a pole in the Zoological Gardens. Queen Victoria is shown trying to prod the bear with a long stick to which a disk labelled 'Poland' has been attached—a allusion to Victoria's concern with Russia's suppression of Polish independence. John Bull and Prince Albert are shown looking on.
