    Following the completion of the Mont Cenis Tunnel, the author suggests some further engineering schemes for which 'Companies are about to be started' and in which money can be advantageously invested. These include the removal of the Pyrenees, the 'irrigation of the Great Desert', the 'transfer of the Great Pyramid to the South Kensington Museum', and the raising of the temperature of the polar seas by artificial means.
