    Inveighs against 'the destroyers / Of our native British birds' whom the author considers as disreputable as 'greedy Lords of Manors' and 'Railway wretches'. Laments the loss of various species of British bird and suggests various ways of punishing the bird-destroyers, including hanging. In conclusion asks readers to read the plea of Angela G Burdett-Coutts (1st Baroness Burdett-Coutts) for the protection of birds in a recent issue of The Times.
