    Reports that M. Carbonel told the Academie des Sciences, Paris, that he had 'discovered the means of producing Oysters in fresh water ponds and basins'. Touts a company for making oysters readily available to everybody, and reports that 'science and ingenuity are busy in contriving a thousand ways of facilitating the communcation between the oyster and mankind'.
