Sea-Water for the Million

Anon

Genre:

News-Commentary, Drollery

Subjects:

Engineering, Invention, Charlatanry

Responds to news of a scheme for raising 'the sea-water from Brighton to London by means of a pipe lying on the side of the London and Brighton Railway'. Ridicules the scheme by pointing out that it will be impossible to distribute the sea-water to Londoners desiring a 'sea-water bath', and that only a quarter of a pint of the substance will be available per household.
