    Points out that while many Americans still view 'the Kaiser's realm as an "effete monarchy"', in fact 'Germans have excelled in steam engines, boilers, electrical machinery, storage batteries, underground cables, chemical processes, and throughout their magnificent iron and steel industry, as well as in the electro-technical industry'.
