    In reporting the suicide of Georges E J M Boulanger, notes that 'if the creed of the Theosophists be true, suicide is surrounded with terrors at least equal to those of Dante's hell'. Indeed, the 'new science of occultism bids fair to rehabilitate the ghastly vision of the under world'. (337)
