Contrasts the affectionate obituary of John Tyndall penned by the surviving member of 'the Great Twin Brethren of belligerent evolutionism' with 'a somewhat coldly-critical estimate' which suggests that Tyndall possessed only 'the instincts of the intelligent amateur' and 'left little impression upon science'. |
